Three questions about luxury vinyl flooring

Three questions about luxury vinyl flooring

Luxury vinyl is a trend that keeps getting traction. That is because it offers terrific value for the decorating dollar.

Affordable, it offers the ultimate in aesthetics and function. Here are three answers to questions we hear most frequently in our showroom.

Question #1: Is it stylish?

Forget any images you may have of the vinyl of past decades! Whether in the form of luxury vinyl plank or square tile-sized pieces, you'll be guaranteed ultimate realism and depth.

It offers true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile. All are taken digitally, so the photos are clear and vibrant with knots, grains, swirls, veining variations, bold colors, and more

Textures add the finishing touch to any wood floor

Luxury vinyl offers the same textures that would usually be done by hand. These include brushed, hand scraped, and distressed.

This may be the most realistic yet: Embossed-in-register (EIR) have little indentations that match the image.

For added realism

Vinyl plank, sometimes called just LVP, is when the material is cut into longboards to mimic hardwood planks. The other cut refers to square, tile-sized pieces often used for stone and tile echoes.

Question #2: Will it stand up to kids and pets?

Luxury vinyl is layered and five times thicker than the original product. In addition, a top clear, melamine wear layer protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and dents.

It’s waterproof and can be submerged or spilled on without damage. This is so whether it’s luxury vinyl tile or plank.

Question #3: Is it easy to care for?

All it needs is regular sweeping and periodic mopping. Use a manufacturer-approved cleaner and avoid waxy, shine-promoting products that can damage the finish. Do this, and your plank or LVT will look great for years.
